athena and apollo adventures: part 1

[ today is a weekend, and nobody's supposed to be at the wright anything agency, but athena's made her way in with her key and is just sitting on the couch and reading some stuff on widget.

a weekend as it may be, athena's got a packed schedule for the day. shopping for groceries (it's tough when you're living alone!), visiting the aquarium for some animal therapy, going to the library to study some, and that's just the start of her day. in the afternoon, she plans on heading to the gym to do some light workouts, and what a good way to train in her martial arts form by asking her colleague apollo to join her!

and also to carry her bags. so she's waiting for him now at the agency. athena's gone a bit too excited for today since she's never really spent time with apollo outside of work-related scenarios, so she got there extra early. ]

Again with being such a killjoy.

Just do it, pleaaaase? [ practically begging at this point. apollo's lucky athena hasn't resorted to emotional blackmail. ]

[pollygrapher]

[Practically sweating bullets over here.]

[pollygrapher]

...fine.

[I'm going to regret this, aren't I... he thinks, even though he'd feel bad saying no when Athena's so insistent.]

[psycholawgy]

[ screeches ]

Thanks! [ you will regret this!

but she is going to hug apollo now. in public transport. yes. ]

[pollygrapher]

[That sure was unexpected! After standing stock-still for a second, Apollo circles an arm around her shoulder, returning the hug however awkwardly.]

Just don't mention it to Mr. Wright and Trucy or I'll never hear the end of it.

[psycholawgy]

[ APOLLO, WHY. she pulls away and starts banging her fists in the air, showing her frustration with the situation. ]

What?! But I have to take pictures!

[pollygrapher]

Pictures... [His worst nightmare, basically. Actually, wait.]

Hold on a second. If you're planning on being in the show, how are you going to take pictures?

[psycholawgy]

I was thinking of just asking somebody in the audience.

[pollygrapher]

[He stares at her just a second longer. Then sighs.]

We still don't know if they'll let us even be in the show, Athena.

[That might be him giving in very, very grudgingly.]

[psycholawgy]

[ STOP BEING SUCH A KILLJOY!! ]

They will, if not, I'll just make a commotion!

[ you'll stop her, right apollo????? ]

[pollygrapher]

[He claps a hand on her shoulder, trying not to look too alarmed.]

Let's just hold off on the commotioning until after we've talked to Sasha, alright?

[From what he remembers of the trainer, she's just as enthusiastic as Athena is, and he hopes she'll be able to keep up with Athena when he can't.]

[psycholawgy]

You're the one who made it sound like we weren't going to be on the show.

[ because she is absolutely and positively sure that sasha would let them have roles. even minor ones! ]

[pollygrapher]

I was just pointing out the possibility. [C'mon, give me a break here!

It's probably a lucky thing their stop comes up just then, and Apollo can steer Athena out of the train compartment, where they're still attracting stares.]

[psycholawgy]

[ out they go! ]

We just need to walk a little bit and we're there. Are you excited? I'm excited. I bet you're excited too!

[ nevermind the fact that she can probably hear apollo's true feelings. ]

[pollygrapher]

[He sends her a smirk.] Anyone can tell you're excited, Athena.

[But as he lets her go, now that they're out of the train, he can admit: ] It'll be nice to see the aquarium for myself. I've been curious about the place since the case.

[Even if he hadn't agreed, she would still pick out the faint bubble of warmth in his voice as he talks about their plans for the day.]

[psycholawgy]

You're going to love it! The dolphins are so cute!

[ to make apollo hurry up, she grabs him by the hand and drags him along to the entrance, even paying for both his and her ticket just to get it over with.

welcome to the shipshape aquarium, apollo justice! ]

[pollygrapher]

[He stumbles along after her with protests that go unheard (Whoa, slow down! The aquarium's not going anywhere, Athena!) but he's looking both curious and excited once they're actually inside.]

Why don't we start with the dolphins, since you like them so much?

[psycholawgy]

[ there's somebody who offers them a map but athena just dashes forward, apollo in tow. ]

Yeah, c'mon, Apollo! You're waaaay too slow!

[ the dolphins are waiting for her!!!! ]

[pollygrapher]

[As Athena drags him along, Apollo turns back to give the worker an apologetic look.]

We know where we're going, thanks!

[And then he's back to quickening his pace, doing his best to keep up with her.] I'm not slow! Have you ever considered you might be going faster than most people?

[psycholawgy]

[ that does slow athena down, and she lets go of apollo. in fact, she slows down to a halt. ]

Are you saying I'm intense?
