...why? It's standard procedure for all newspapers! Obviously, I have to confirm a letter to the editor was written by the person who signed it, or it'd be easy for someone to write a fake as a prank. Big newspaper editors have their own staff that do this for them. But since I'm doing all my own legwork, I have to make-do with personally verifying it. Pretty clever, don't you think?
