[ His eyes do stay shut this time, lips parting just slightly as he concentrates on winding down and finally letting the lack of sleep from the past few days catch up to him. His arms curl against her sides, head tilting to kiss the bottom of her neck softly. It lingers, before he just starts to doze off there to be honest.
It's the happiest he's felt in a long time, so much that his heart is probably singing right now. ]
[ and it's practically a lullaby that's sounding her off to sleep. though she tries to stay awake for a bit longer, even though her eyes are closing and she can't bare to open them anymore. she just wants to savour this moment - that they're together and they overcame a hurdle together. it feels nice, and calming, and this is probably one of the best days she's lived.
it might just be her being excited about everything and overflowing with emotion, but she loves him so much. and she'll love him even more tomorrow, and then the day after that, and so on. ]
[ It's a few hours later when he finally wakes up, though at first he forgets where he is. Not that he forgets them sorting this out, talking, making up. He's just a bit foggy from such a great sleep, and more than a bit comfortable. He makes a small noise as his eyes open, staring at the opposite wall as he nuzzles his cheek a bit.
It's almost as though he's fighting to go back to sleep, honestly, but after a minute or so he shifts a little to look towards her face only... to realise where his own ended up.
No wonder he's super comfortable, tbh.
Instead of jerking away he forces his shoulders and back to relax, telling himself this is probably okay. ]
