— um.

[ thank god she's holding a pillow, because she's burying her face in it. ]

You're such an apple...

[ His hand slowly reaches out then, trying to pry the pillow from her face. ]

If I remember right, that isn't a bad thing. [ A different kind of teasing... but god. Did he miss this. Them just being together, being like this. ]

[ no, this pillow is hers. she's pulling the pillow back, burying her face even more. ]

Not really.

[ Athena pls????

He lets his hand pull away from it, hesitates for a moment as cautiously he drops his palm to her leg. It's less embarrassing this time because she has tights on, but he does drag his hand up from her ankle, fingertips brushing over her knee. ]

No? [ He tilts his head as he watches where her head has disappeared into the pillow. ]

[ she is a child, ok.

and she pulls the pillow down a bit, revealing her eyes. there's not much they're saying, they just look unamused. ]

Not this time.

[ His head cants a little more, resting on his shoulder slightly. She does look unamused, yes, but-- ]

Does it really bother you when I say things like that? [ He asks it softly though, 100% paying attention to her as his hand stops in the middle of her thigh, just resting there. ]

[ she pulls the pillow down a bit more until it's on her chest, and she embraces it tight. ]

It's not bad. I'm just- It's just weird. And nobody's really said those things about me before.

[ He drags his teeth over his lip, then murmurs softly: ] I love you. [ There's a pause now as he finally twists himself until he can pull himself next to her, lying on his side, hand holding his head up. His other hand reaches out to touch over her cheek, shifting to boop her nose lightly. ]

Probably even more than before. I wasn't even sure that was possible. But that means I won't stop saying those things either. I want you to know.

[ why does it feel like this is the first time they've said i love you to each other? this one feels so much different now, as if their hearts are resonating with one another and athena just can't contain herself.

she rolls to the side, closer to him, cheeks so red. she's heard him say those three words before, of course, but this time, it just feels like somebody she likes—loves—truly loves her back. and it's making her heart pound as if it's going to escape from her chest. ]

I don't— [ a pause. ] I'm— [ dear god. breathe, athena. ]

I think you broke her!

[ at least widget seems really happy! it even has hearts for eyes... ]

[ To be fair, there isn't any extra noise over his own heart anymore. It's clear. It definitely helps that she seems flustered beyond help, Widget only confirming it when she stutters out three words then seems to struggle with her breathing. He uses that to try and pull the pillow free again, letting his arm shift to curl under her and pull her in.

His other hand drops from her face to press over her heart beat, feeling the thuds under his palm. It's such a warm feeling, knowing that they actually seem to be reaching each other now his own walls have crumbled down.

He leans then, kissing her temple, down over her eyes and nose, her jaw and down her neck where it's exposed at her side. He leaves an open mouthed kiss there, tongue pressing briefly on the skin before he sucks. Unlike last time, he actually knows what he's doing... ah. ]

[ god, merlin. taking advantage of the incredulously flustered.

athena's breathing gets even heavier as he kisses her in that manner, not even sure if she should even shift or move to get comfortable. she doesn't know what's happening anymore, and the compliments have made her feel light-headed, so she'll definitely just let merlin do his thing for now.

though that doesn't mean she doesn't make any squeaking or moaning noises. because she does. her hands let go of the pillow she was holding onto, and instead, move to wrap her arms around his neck. ]

[ Despite what he's doing, he's being incredibly gentle with her, giving her at least enough space at the start to shove him if she wants. When she lets go of the pillow and grips him instead he takes that as a sign that it's okay.

The hand over her heart moves to her back to pull her closer, though it's only when she makes noises that he bites down slightly too. His teeth press in enough to nip at her skin, leaving a clear red mark in the middle of her neck. He presses a tiny kiss over it after, licks over it to soothe. His mouth lifts to kiss the edge of her ear before he whispers: ] I think I'm the luckiest person in the world.

[ she can't help but laugh at his comment, not even minding how he bit her and everything else. the whisper tickles, first of all, making her jerk a bit, but she doesn't react violently.

and she continues to laugh. ]

I thought that was me.

[ Really he's grateful there is no violent reaction to any of it, it makes the moment all the more sweeter when he leans back to look at her face, probably grinning stupidly at her. ]

Maybe it's both of us... We did find each other.

[ the giggle that comes out of her this time is much more genuine—something childlike. ]

Maybe. But I think I'm luckier, anyway.

[ competition ok ok. ]

[ Athena pls... though it's nice to hear her laughing like this again, that's for sure. ]

I don't know about that, you still have to put up with me.

[ He's joking... mostly. Though just in case he finally leans to kiss her on the lips this time. His hand slides up into her hair, fingers curling gently into her side ponytail, threading through the strands. ]

[ well, she can't just do nothing after being told that. she has to prove that she's the luckier one between them.

except she hasn't thought of what to do yet, so maybe she'll just get him next time. she does return the kiss, though. it's soft and sweet, letting her own lips linger on his. ]

[ Maybe next time is the way to go, as right now he tries to keep her occupied to not keep saying things like that. He brushes his lips against hers first, goes to nuzzle his nose against hers before he ends up hissing, having forgotten that it was still a bit sensitive from where she decked him earlier. ty babe.

He doesn't let it linger for long though, instead turning to nibble on her lower lip lightly instead. His hand rubs up and down her back gently too. ]

[ she tenses at the contact on her back, mostly because she isn't used to something like that, but she eases just as quickly. she's not used to being given compliments, nor is she used to touch. but with merlin, it's okay. even if she doesn't want to admit it - especially with the former.

she lets out a soft moan at the nibbling, wanting to say something, but that can be put off for later. (whatever happened to napping? or was that just an excuse to get her in his room?) ]

[ Um excuse you, missy. He had intended to go for a nap, but then who is the one who initiated a hot kiss in the living room????

Not like he's going to admit that, but at least this kiss has a layer of laziness to it with how slow and delicate it is. After a minute or so he pulls back to pull her in closer, to hug onto her and just breathe.

It's like his oxygen has returned. Cleaner air, cleaner mind and all. ]

[ she's careful when she hugs him back, hoping she doesn't make him hiss in pain again. ]

Still luckier.

[ will she ever let it go? not until he gives up :T!!!!! ]

[ It's fine this time, thankfully. Though... ah. Athena... what is he going to do with you? He laughs a little breathlessly, head dropping to rest under her chin. ]

You... [ But instead of saying anything else he moves the hand on her back to her side, intending to tickle her for being awkward about this. ]

[ he gets a rather strong jab at his side for all that tickling.

SORRY MERLIN. ]

[ Okay this time he hisses loudly as she jabs him in the side, jerking back and--

falling off the bed. There's a soft groan from the floor but lbr... it was his fault. ]

Yeah! Take that!

[ she's punching at the air now, seated up.
