[ she lays down as well, and rolls to her side to get closer to him. she's seen what the galaxies look like countless of times, and they've always been so breathtaking each time. but it's a lot better watching it with merlin. it's a lot of fun. ]

[ He shakes his head slightly. ] I can't either. [ A laugh follows, and now he glances at her. ] But they're all definitely happy emotions. What else would they be right now?

I'mnot [ His voice definitely raises with another laugh, feeling pretty high right now actually. What a good evening this has been, and still continues to be. ]

[ she rolls over again until she's resting on his arm. the closer she is, the better.

My mother used to work at a place similar to this. A space center - so we lived there, too. These kinds of places were where I'd play often.

[ He shifts until he can pull her into a hug, his arm sliding under her to draw her in better. The lights from the projector are on her face too, and it's so quiet here he can practically hear his own heart. ]

It's beautiful. [ He watches her now though, the way she looks up at the sky above. ]

[ she can see him in her peripheral view. ]

[ He blinks at her, a little confused. ] Nothing, why?

[ His free hand reaches up, tucking hair behind her ear, fingers sliding down to stroke it into place like that. ]

[ by this point, they're just staring into each other's eyes, aren't they...

[ Pretty much, yeah. It's gross.

He's so at peace though, even though they broke into the planetarium and there's probably a law here against that he wouldn't change it for the world. In fact, he'd probably do it again for another moment like this.

[ she lets out a wistful sigh. ] I'm so reminded of home right now. I miss my mother. You know, I didn't like her, and I never really got to apologise for disliking her before she died.

[ It is... it sure is. ] Oh, I know that.

[ Mr. Sarcasm over here and all. He goes quiet after though, finding it hard to understand. Even after seeing what happened. He was always so close with his mother that it's just... so different. ] I'm sure she knows now though. From where ever she is.

[ is that a tear falling down her cheek? sure is. but she quickly wipes it away, but another tear replaces is. and then she's suddenly crying. but she doesn't seem upset.

[ He shifts her slightly, pulling her up against himself a little more so his other hand can reach out to smooth tears away. For a minute or two he doesn't actually say anything, just tried to offer comfort with his hands because he needs to think of the best way to say it. ]

I wish you could too, that you could have a chance to make it right now that you've grown so much. I'm sure she'd be proud. You just need to believe it, too.

[ she looks up at him and smiles, laughing amiably. ]

I can only hope so. And I'd introduce you to her, too. [ she laughs again. ] Try not to make yourself too dorky in front of her.

[ His eyebrows shoot up at that. ]

Too dorky? [ What are you trying to say, Athena? ]

[ it would be impossible for merlin to meet metis, but it's funny to think about, anyway. she's... at least sure that she'd approve of merlin. he's a nice guy, and his heart is in the right place. but most of all, because athena likes him.

metis may have been a strict mother especially when it came to her ability, but athena's a hundred percent sure now that her mother loved her.

she can't help but smirk when merlin asks that. she just wants to tease him, really. ]

[ His own mother would be fine with whoever he chose anyway, as long as he was happy. As long as he was alive. She's more than aware of the dangers his life is constantly in because of his destiny, but she also knows that there are people who will look after him, too.

Even if it costs their lives, just like Will lost his life for him.

He lets out a breath, frowning at her. For a second it looks like he's a little miffed by that, but then his hand is sliding down over her side to try and tickle her. ]

Who's the dorky one here? [ Well, it's a good job he's been trying to self teach himself new vocabulary anyway. ]

[ fasd;gk not this again! she squirms a bit and laughs but eventually puts both her hands on merlin's cheeks. ]

Stop tickling me, [ she says flatly. but then she kisses him. ] This guy, right here. He's so dorky.

[ You give in once, you know it comes back with revenge... Though he does stop fairly quickly, it was more to say wow, that's rude, athena. ]

Like you're any different. [ He's not alone in this, though that's probably why they get along so well. Two idiots together. ]

There is a way to make this competitive moment end though, and he takes it. His hand reaches to tangle in her hair, pulling her down to kiss her. ]

Yes, [ she whispers playfully, returning that kiss. ]

Because I like being on top all the time.
