[ she smiles a little, pushing herself up a bit so her back is resting on a pillow. ]

[ He twists to grab it from the floor, dropping it onto his lap as he shifts back to sit next to her. ]

Here. It might... be a bit difficult for you to understand though. I can try and explain some things.

[ it would be interesting to see the stuff he reads, anyway!! it's learning more about him in a way. ]

[ It isn't entirely plain either, some pages look like this, this or this. It's beautiful, really. ]

[ she wiggles closer to him to get a better look. one hand flips through some of the pages to see what the rest of the book looks like. there's not much that she can understand in these pages tbh except for some images. ]

[ He glances at her at that, giving her a small smile as he flips through to find the right page. ]

Here. [ It's only a tiny part though, but there's a bunch of different flowers around it. ] It just creates a flower, the sorcerer or sorceress is the one who gives it shape, colour.

[ He bites the corner of his lip. ]

Yeah. I mean... magic is a part of me, and a part of the world. It's all connected, so.

[ that just makes her smile even more, and she nuzzles her head against his arm. ]

[ He shifts to kiss her forehead, smiles back at her. ]

[ she wiggles a bit again to look at the pages. ]

Mm, why don't you surprise me?

[ One hand holds the book, the other shifting to wrap around her waist and pull her up to his lap, so her back is against his chest and she can see more clearly. ]

A surprise it is, then.

[ He makes sure her hands are pulled back and uses magic to turn the pages. They flip over until it stops on a page with paintings of magical beasts and text. ]

I used this one with Lancelot. [ His hand flattens over the page and he nuzzles at her neck. ] It's... for magical beasts that can't be killed by other methods. When they're attacking people and have to be stopped. When one came we used this.

[ oh! she jumps a bit when the pages start moving on their own. she even looks up at him in amazement before looking back at the book. ]

What kind of beast was it?

A griffon.

[ He raises an eyebrow at her when she looks up at him, unable to hold back a smile. ]

It's so weird how these things are real where you're from.

[ but she means it in a good way!! ]

Well, magic is still in abundance. I can't imagine a world without it.

...and don't tell me about Trucy's magic panties again because that isn't the same.

[ she can't help but laugh when he mentions trucy's magic panties. ]

You know, I still don't know how she can pull almost everything out of those panties of hers.
