[ somehow, that's REALLY COMFORTING TO KNOW?!?!?! she doesn't say it out loud, though, but widget probably has hearts for eyes right now. . . ]

Oh. [ this is probably her cue to look away, so she does that. ] That's— That's okay. I mean, it's-- it's you, so it's fine... [ that he's thought about it, she means. ]

[ She can probably hear how fast his heart is racing, too. Ah. ]

I mean... my heart feels alive with you and it's supposed to be... more than that right? I don't really know. It doesn't matter anyway, we can leave them in a drawer somewhere.

[ yeah, it probably doesn't matter... and she can definitely hear his heart acting the way it is, but it's fine. hers is beating the same way right now. ]

Yeah, let's do that. And then we can go to dinner.

[ He still isn't meeting her eye 100%, but it's just because he's embarrassed as well. Though he moves first to shove the box and its contents in the drawer in the cabinet next to the bed. There isn't much in the room thanks to the effects in here, but-- ]

[ really, she should be just as embarrassed as he is for even asking a question like that, but she can't help but feel so relieved in knowing that he's thought about it even just sometimes. it just means that it's not just her, and that she isn't crazy. ]

Okay. [ she grabs her purse which really only has her cerevice and credit card in it before walking to the door. she glances over at the room again, smiling. this night got off to a weird start, but she's still grateful, anyway. ] Let's go.

[ Well, it's been a bunch of months and they're both young and... free... mostly. It isn't crazy at all. He just double check he has the keycard for the room and his credit card (leaving his CereVice in the room tbh) and then reaches out for her hand when he makes it to the door. ]

Yeah, let's go.

[ the elevator trip to the restaurant doesn't take long. there aren't a lot of people either, so they can sit wherever they want when they get there. merlin can look around all he likes, but athena's letting go of his hand the moment they step in because she runs to one of the aquariums to watch the fish as they swim around. ]

Wow. This is great!

[ at least there seems to be a table nearby. ]

[ It's a nice restaurant, with all the aquarium tanks lined up all around the place. Athena's gone before he can even blink, but it still brings a smile to his face because she sounds and looks happy. It's cute, endearing and makes his heart leap and thud more than it should. He's happy with that though, happy with just watching her move around to look at all the different fish.

He leaves her be while he asks for a table close to one of the bigger tanks, holding out a chair for her once the waiter leaves their menus on the table. ]

My lady, your table is ready.

[ EVERYTHING IS SO CUTE. there's even a fish that looks like a bird! it has a beak and all! when merlin calls out to her, she looks back at him. ]

Look! Look, Merlin!

[ she points at an orange fish. it doesn't look like a fish from earth, but it has... fur? and horns. it looks more like a tiny cow than anything. ]

[ She's on fire, moving around to look at all the fish and--




What is that even supposed to be?! ]

That's a fish?!

[ wow!! don't judge a fish by its... whatever! athena just looks back at the aquarium and taps at the glass when an actual fish-looking fish approaches her. but it quickly swims away and hides inside a toy castle when it sees the girl's face. ]

No, it ran away! [ it only makes her tap at the glass louder, which. . . makes the other people in the restaurant look in their direction. ]

[ Well better he judge it than ... frighten it to death. Everyone's staring too, now, so he moves over to her (leaving the chair as is) and takes her hands. ]

If we put you in a glass box would you like it if someone started tapping on it?

[ merlin, that's the wrong question to ask. ]

If people came to look at how pretty I am, then I wouldn't hide! They can take pictures all they like.

[ she's not giving up on you, fish!! but this also means she's being cooperative and walks toward their table to take a seat. ]

It'd be weird if we ate seafood while we're here, huh?
